เพรสเชอร์เกจไฮดรอลิค leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service supplier Cold Solutions, says it’s going to make investments USD 70 million to construct the biggest cold chain facility in East Africa to deal with challenges that face transportation of perishable goods.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi will be the largest, most superior and environment friendly within the region. The cold chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and multiple product ranges, from fresh fruit and vegetables, to prescription drugs and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen meals.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio firm of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a personal fairness fund advised by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
“Cold Solutions’ one-stop-shops are designed to allow businesses to maintain track of products in real-time and facilitate transportation throughout East Africa by way of temperature-controlled trucks, both within the inside metropolis or to long-haul locations,” mentioned Jared Irving, Managing Director, ARCH.

The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that over 40% of meals in Sub-Saharan Africa perishes before it reaches a client. This can be as high as 60% for recent produce in Sub-Saharan Africa.
